Some of the most beautiful evenings I play are small: a dinner for twelve, a proposal, a parent’s seventieth. Here is how live piano works for a private celebration.
Send the date, the venue and a line about the occasion. I reply personally, with a programme suggestion and a quote.

At a large event, the piano is part of the atmosphere. At a small one, it becomes the occasion. Guests sit close; they hear every note; someone asks for a song their mother loved. It is the old idea of a salon evening — music at close range, among friends — and it is still the most personal gift a host can give.
One requested piece is prepared in advance for every booking. For a proposal or an anniversary, tell me the song when you write — it is arranged for solo piano and ready long before the day.
Many Las Vegas homes, restaurants and private dining rooms have a piano. If yours has one, a tuning a few days before is the best thing you can do for the music. If it does not, tell me early and we agree the best arrangement for the room.
Two hours is the minimum, with travel and breaks included in the booked time — usually enough for arrival, dinner and a short performance after it.
