People search for a single number, but two pianists quoting the same figure can be offering very different evenings. These are the questions behind every quote I write — and worth asking any pianist you are considering.
The two hours you hear are the smallest part of the work. Behind them: a programme chosen for your room, rehearsed pieces you asked for, arriving early to try the instrument, and the judgement to change the music when the room changes — the doors opening late, a speech running long. That judgement is what a concert pianist brings, and it is why I quote each date personally rather than publishing a price list.
